Big Beach

As you may have guessed from the title, I went to Big Beach today! The water was gorgeous!! It is so clear you can see right down to the bottom. I think that is the norm out here with all of the beaches. Certainly nothing like Lake Hendricks.. :)
The weather was cloudy for most of the morning, but it was really cool because we could see the rain coming down higher up on the mountain. The sun came out eventually, and then it got really hot. I got a little bit of color today which is good, but now I have this stupid line on my arm because I was apparently sitting too still and the sun only got the front of it. Now I need to work on evening that out!
We got to the beach around ten thirty or so, and there were a few people there, but it wasn't crowded. After a while some local boys showed up with their boogie boards and were doing some cool flips on the water. A few more boarders showed up after them who knew some tricks as well. It was really entertaining to watch (and a few of them were pretty cute). :) Here are a few pictures (of the beach, not the boys lol).

Oops, took that one crooked.
You can see the clouds here. They were a little dark, but it didn't rain down by us.
I just sort of floated on the waves and people-watched all day. The waves were interesting because they broke right on the shore, not before. There was this couple standing right where the waves hit, trying to stay upright while the water washed back and forth over their legs. I was laughing so hard watching them because every time a wave came in they were just barely keeping their balance. The lady was screaming when the water ran back out because it was pulling on her so hard. Eventually, both if them went down. I think the man fell on purpose, because it looked pretty smooth, but the woman WIPED OUT. The wave knocked her sideways, pushed her up the beach, then pulled her right back out. She was sliding all over the place and trying to grab the man's leg to get her footing again. It was hilarious. I probably watched them for at least half an hour.
After Cole and I were ready to leave, we stopped at the pool where Sandy and Kevin were working for a swim meet. It was over though, so we were only there for a few minutes. Then we got home and I built a sandcastle from all of the sand that was stuck in my suit. Okay, not really, but there was a lot of sand!
Sandy and I went to Costco for some groceries and we are going to roast some hotdogs and s'mores over the fire tonight!
Aloha!
